Terms of Participation

Rules you must accept before registering

These terms of participation (hereinafter referred to as "terms") govern the relationship between the organiser of the BlavFF event (hereinafter referred to as "organiser") and the event participant (hereinafter referred to as "participant"). By registering for the event, the participant confirms that they have read, understood and agree to these terms.

1. Organizer

The organiser of the BlavFF event is Furosion o.z., Tomášikova 45A, 831 04 Bratislava, Slovak Republic, IČO: 57 528 900.

Contact: blavff@furosion.org

2. Registration and participation

Registration is mandatory for all participants. Registration creates a participant relationship between the participant and the organiser. The organiser reserves the right to refuse registration without giving a reason, particularly if the registration was filled with false information.

The participant is required to provide true and current information during registration. In the event of changes to their information, the participant is required to update it through the registration system or contact the organiser.

Each participant will receive a confirmation email after registration. Participation in the event is conditional upon completed registration and timely arrival at the event venue.

3. Eligibility

The event is primarily intended for persons aged 15 to 30. Persons under 15 may only attend in the company of a legal guardian or a person over 18 who assumes responsibility for their safety and behaviour throughout the event.

Exceptions to the age limit may be granted for speakers, partners, Artist Alley vendors and invited guests upon prior agreement with the organiser.

4. Behaviour and safety

Participants are obliged to behave respectfully towards all participants, guests and venue staff. Any harassment, discrimination, violence or aggressive behaviour will result in immediate exclusion from the event without a refund of the registration fee.

The organiser may also exclude a participant in the case of violation of event rules (available at blavff.sk/en/rules), safety instructions or organiser instructions.

Detailed rules of conduct are set out in the Event Rules and the Anti-Harassment Policy. The participant is required to familiarize themselves with these before the event.

5. Programme changes and event cancellation

The organiser reserves the right to change the event programme at any time, invite or recall guests, change the time schedule or venue. Changes will be announced via the website and social media.

In the event of cancellation of the event for reasons on the organiser's side (force majeure, pandemic, unavailability of venue, etc.), participants will be offered either a transfer of their registration to a replacement date or a full refund of the registration fee.

The organiser is not liable for damages incurred by participants as a result of programme changes or event cancellation, except where this is in conflict with applicable law.

6. Cancellation and refund

The participant may cancel their registration and request a refund of the fee by email to blavff@furosion.org no later than 14 days before the start of the event.

In the event of registration cancellation less than 14 days before the event, the participant is not entitled to a refund of the fee, except in the cases referred to in point 5 (cancellation of the event on the organiser's side).

In the case of proven health reasons or other force majeure, the organiser may, after assessing the individual case, allow a refund of the fee even after the above deadline.

7. Liability for damages

The organiser is not liable for lost, stolen or damaged items of participants. Participants are responsible for their personal belongings and obliged to protect them from loss or damage.

The organiser is not liable for health damage to participants caused by their own conduct, violation of rules or organiser instructions.

The participant is liable for damages caused to the organiser or third parties in connection with their participation in the event.

8. Photography, video and intellectual property

During the event, the organiser and persons authorised by it may create photographs, video recordings and audio recordings for documentation and appropriate presentation. This processing is not based on a blanket “consent by attendance”, but on the legal bases and safeguards explained in the Privacy Policy.

Anyone who does not wish to be specifically photographed or recorded may notify staff during the event or object using the method set out in the Privacy Policy. At a marked live stream, please contact staff before entering so that a reasonable way to participate outside the camera view can be offered where the layout allows it.

All copyright to the event content (programme, lectures, visual materials) remains the property of their authors. The participant may not reproduce or distribute this content for commercial purposes without the consent of the authors.

9. Personal data protection

The organiser processes personal data of participants in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Personal Data Protection Act. Details on the processing of personal data are set out in the Privacy Policy.

Newsletter subscription is based on separate, voluntary consent, which may be withdrawn at any time. We process information in forms according to the form's purpose and the relevant legal basis stated in the Privacy Policy; completing a form does not constitute blanket consent to every type of processing.

10. Insurance

The organiser does not provide travel or health insurance for participants. Participants are advised to obtain appropriate insurance before attending the event.

Participants who take part in activities related to the Artist Alley or sales are responsible for insuring their goods and liability towards third parties.

11. Force majeure

The organiser is not liable for the fulfilment of its obligations if prevented by circumstances that it could not influence even with reasonable effort (natural disasters, pandemics, government orders, technical failures beyond the organiser's control, etc.).

In the event of force majeure, the organiser will inform participants of the further course of action without delay via the website and email communication.

12. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic. Any disputes arising from these terms or in connection with them shall be resolved by the competent court in the Slovak Republic.

Participants have the right to contact an alternative dispute resolution body if the conditions under the relevant legislation are met.

13. Final provisions

The organiser reserves the right to change these terms at any time. Changes shall take effect on the date of their publication on the blavff.sk website. The participant is required to regularly check the current version of the terms.

If any provision of these terms becomes invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in force and effect.

These terms are effective from 1 January 2026.
